Some forums have a browse section of avatars that can be used but this one doesn't. I don't have any photos on my computer. Is it easy to copy an avatar or picture from an internet site ?

Yes it is! I'm not entirely sure how, I think you click the image so it opens in a new window all by itself, and paste it into the thing. Those are all technical terms of course. I don't know what kind of system you're using... To the BatGoogle!TM!

It is very easy to do. I'll show you how!

Say, for instance, you wanted your avatar to be a picture of Professor Plum wearing a fur hat. Such as this:

Well, you would right-click the image and select Copy image address. If there isn't an option like that, click Image Properties and copy the address from there. In this case, it will get you this: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b138/AlohaJoe/joe_soc.jpg

Next, go to where you edit your profile and scroll down to the bottom and paste that address into the box where it says Upload Avatar from a URL. Click submit and now you can enjoy this forum in all your Furry Hat glory.

Also, I would suggest opening an account on Photobucket and uploading your picture there first. If you are getting your picture from another website, just click the Web URL button in the upload box and paste in the address. Once it is uploaded, copy your new image address and follow the previously mentioned steps.

Thanks, that seems to be fairly clear, I'm probably going to have a go next week when I have more time. I have to say I must be one of the few people who has'nt got any of their own photos on their computer & the reason is that I don't have a digital camera.

Megan -- I was tinkering with the forum, and found it let me upload avatars for anybody I wanted (only I can do this, with my imperial powers) so I went ahead and gave you one. Panther -- Ditto. I just picked something silly, let me know if you'd like something different.
